Terrible website design and even worse website
I had a free directory listing on Byregion.net in their Healing Arts section since May, and at the time I signed up I had a run in with one of their "customer service" reps. Their website is hard to navigate, and apparently it is designed such that you can register for a paid web listing accidentally without actually paying. I did this accidentally back in May, and then received a very rude phone call where the rep reprimanded me for trying to get away without paying and tried to push me into handing over my credit card number.

Over time I forgot about that phone call, and on Saturday night, I considered "upgrading" to the paid listing. I followed the links about upgrading and the page it took me to wanted me to give my credit card number without giving me any indication of how much it would cost me. That sent up a red flag, and as I was unable to find Web Display listing costs on their website anywhere, I decided I would follow up on a normal weekday when there would be someone around to ask for assistance.

Guess what? I started the morning to a very rude phone message from the same customer service rep accusing me again of signing up for a paid account without paying. He left an out of state number and demanded that I call him to take care of it. I was shocked. I was not comfortable calling this angry guy directly, nor calling the out of state number that he left me - so I decided to contact the company via their "report a problem" web form. I explained that over the weekend, I was looking into upgrading but could not find their rates and alerting them to the fact that their website technology had signed me up for the paid account without my approval. Then I sat down to do my morning meditations. When I finished, I found 5 missed calls from said customer service rep, and an email directing me to call him again at an out of state number. His email address was not at the company domain, in fact the information in his email seemed completely unrelated to byregion.net. This sent up another flag.

I decided that I did not need to give this company business after all the messages from this guy this morning, so I sent them an email letting them know that they lost my business due to poor customer service, alerting them that some guy named Doug was being very rude, and asking them to delete all my listings. A short while later, I got another email from Doug that said ""Please quit signing up for these and wasting our time".

I am honestly not sure that this website is for real and legit. They were very rude, requested credit card information without giving you any indication of what they were going to charge you, they did not have a toll free number, nor did they send emails from an account related to their domain name. I recommend steering clear of them. - Joanna Artemisia , posted 09/04/07
