i think what i like the most about The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect is the fact that the miracle technology--which results in Prime's becoming self-aware and ultimately allows it to take over the whole of reality--this miracle technology is called The Correlation Effect. because of that old mantra, "correlation is not causation", see? brilliant. it's things like that, mostly in miniature but sometimes on that scale, that struck me about this book. - Unsubscribed , posted 07/11/07 |
