The cast from "Deadwood"(minus, unfortunately, Ian McShane) hits the beach for Christ's return, and he surfs. Emotionally draining characters and vile dialogue but moments of brilliance and undercurrent of potential greatness. A favorite theme of creator David Milch is - that the future is constantly in the process of reinterpreting the meaning of the past. A clip: John says, "See God, Kai." Kai passes out and has visions of her friends and her metal piercings get so hot her skin around them steams.
