Responsibilities:
* Reconcile assigned accounts monthly to ensure that all accounts are balanced to the most current date. Utilize custodian online tools to obtain account information.
* Research transaction and position discrepancies between GW&K and custodian banks. Work with trade settlements personnel and utilize custodian web tools to research and resolve account issues timely in an effort to minimize financial risk.
* Responsible for Corporate Actions. Ensuring that our accounts reflect these changes and reconcile with the custodian bank. This includes communicating with GW&K Bond and equity traders, corresponding with custodians and third parties in the notification, information gathering and response process.
* Conduct data checks each day to ensure information on GW&K’s system is accurate. Troubleshoot & resolve data issues timely.
* Maintain working relationships with other internal groups including Bond & Equity Traders, and Client Service member(s) to troubleshoot and resolve issues in client accounts.
* Create and maintain relationships with custodian banks and other third parties.
* Process transactions to core accounting systems where necessary as related to client accounts utilizing technology.
* Other responsibilities as determined by the group manager.
Business Skills:
* An understanding of (or a desire to understand) portfolio accounting.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Problem solving and analytical skills. Must trouble shoot one-off problems and investigate issues using non-standard sources and procedures.
* Willingness to learn about an investment advisor from the operational level and apply that knowledge daily.
* Service orientated.
* Team player.
* Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi task to ensure resolution within the established timeframes.
* Computer literate; experience learning new database systems (familiarity with SQL query writing is helpful).
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
* College degree (preferably in Business/Finance/Accounting) and/or prior related industry experience.
