Grief Ritual on the Full Moon
Sun. Oct. 4 at 3 pm
at America’s Stonehenge

These are challenging times as we seem to be held in a pattern where the scale has been tipped more towards suffering than joy. Grief is so much part of our lives but rarely do we give full expression to it or realize how much we carry it or where it even comes from. The unexpressed grief keeps us from being in the flow of life. This ritual helps us release in the depth of our bones what no longer serves us. Through this release we enter into a space of being and feeling alive that allows us to be in our authentic soul’s purpose and allows for the manifestation of abundance. The release of the grief allows us to reset patterns that have been past on from generations before. A lot of our grief and sadness is connected to the global oppression and scarcity of not having enough. This vibration can be transformed when we allow ourselves to go into the depth of WATER to free ourselves from the bondage of sorrow. The release of the grief opens a doorway for healing that goes beyond our personal grief. We are offering this at a time when nature is going through her own very expressive process of letting go. It is as if she is saying letting go is huge and you want the world to know and witness that. In our offering of tears we also begin to cleanse the land and 4000 years of history of this prehistoric site.

Ann Sousa and Katja Esser will be the main facilitators in this grief ritual that has been modeled after the funeral rituals of the Dagara people of West Africa and passed on by Malidoma Somé. We will be spending some time in circle where we will prepare ourselves to go into this deep grieving space. This time also consist of making bundles and the communal building of the shrine and ritual space. The bundles consist out of things we find in nature. If you have something at home that is a symbol of your grief that needs to be released and that decomposes you can add that to the bundle.

The organisers of this event will need a critical mass for this ritual to be a success. Please let us know if you are planning to come. Please pass the word along, bring a friend in need. Also drumming is crucial in this ritual, so bring your drum if you play. Everybody else bring your grief, voice and dancing body.

Since this ritual is more involved on our part and the whole thing last longer than a regular ritual we need to charge more than our other rituals. You will have to pay the regular admission fee of $9.50 at Stonehenge so they can continue to provide us with this opportunity to do things here and at the ritual site we ask for a donation $20 if you can $15 if you can’t.

Ritual will happen rain or shine. There is always prayer to the weather spirits, tarps or the indoor space if needed.
